Mr. DeWayne Phillips, 74 of Nashville passed away Saturday, July 29, 2017 at South Georgia Medical Center.  Mr. Phillips was born June 19, 1943 to the late P. B. Phillips, Sr. & Minnie Brown Phillips.  He served in the United States Army and was a member of the Adel United Methodist Church.  

Survivors include his wife, Jackie Tygart Phillips of Nashville; children, Candace Phillips of Valdosta, and Benjamin Andrew (Tisha) Phillips of Nashville; grandchildren, Will Lawhorn, Taylor Lawhorn, Alee Phillips, and Ben Phillips; brother, P. B. Phillips, Jr. of Alapaha; and three sisters, Mary Gray of Nashville, Linda Webb of Nashville, and Becky Nulf of Ind.  Mr. Phillips was preceded in death by six sisters, Margaret Revels, Melba Fountain, Edith Taylor, Dorothy Griffin, Carolyn Cribb, and LaFaye Fullerton.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, August 5, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Purvis Funeral Home, 207 E Mitchell St, Adel Ga with Rev. Roy Castleberry officiating.  The family will be receiving friends one hour prior to the service.
