Mr. Gene Hutchinson, 65 of Adel passed away Thursday, October 26, 2017 at South Georgia Medical Center.  Mr. Hutchinson was born July 18, 1952 to the late Clarence Hutchinson and Julia Vandiviere Hutchinson.  He was a member of Brushy Creek Baptist Church where he served as treasurer and as a deacon.  Mr. Hutchinson was a painter and contractor before he retired and he loved his family very much.

Survivors include his daughter, Hannah Marie Hutchinson of Adel; sisters, Linda Hutchinson of Adel, Judy Hutchinson of Adel, Sue Spires of Sparks, Elizabeth Johnson of Sparks, and Debra Bennett of Adel.  Mr. Hutchinson was preceded in death by one brother, Clarence T. Hutchinson, Jr.,; and two sisters, Margaret Davis, and Jackie Stone.  

Funeral services will be held Sunday, October 29, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. at Brushy Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Jimmy Parker, Rev. Mickey Lindsey, Rev. Ike Jefferson, and Mr. Gary Cooksey officiating.  Interment will follow at Spring Hill Church Cemetery.  The family will be receiving friends Saturday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Purvis Funeral Home.
