Faye Walker Obituary

Faye Walker, 63 of Valdosta passed away Sunday, April 14, 2024 at South Georgia Medical Center. Faye was born September 30, 1960 in Valdosta to the late Freddie Cline Stover, and Shirley Cowart Stover. She loved her job and her work family who she worked with for 22 years and 5 months at Coastal Plain Area EOA, Inc. as a Program Budget Analyst.

Faye was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church and she loved the Lord. One of her favorite songs was “How Great Thou Art” and she often said she was singing to Jesus himself. Faye was a kind hearted person that would do anything for anyone and expected nothing in return. She lived by treating others the way you want to be treated.

Becoming a grandmother was one of the greatest joys of her life. She would often brag about being “GiGi” to her “Little Man” and loved him with all her heart. She took pleasure in playing with her two fur babies, "Cujo" and "Gabby" and would spoil them with treats and toys galore. Faye loved going to the beach and being able to relax with her family. She loved to sing and dance like it was nobody’s business.

Anyone who knew her knows how much she loved all things with sparkle, bling, and pink! Faye was the best wife, best mama, best daughter, best sister, best aunt, best GiGi, and a best friend. Whatever she did she would do it with her whole heart and soul and you knew it if you were blessed to be a part of her life. She was never one that wanted to be upfront in the spotlight, but she so deserves to be honored as such.

Survivors include her husband, Kevin Walker of Valdosta; daughter, Donna Faye Browning of Nashville, TN; grandson, Thomas Bradley Williams, Jr.; mother, Shirley Ann Stover of Hahira; brother & sister-in-law, Freddie and Jeanne Stover, of Hahira; sister, Debra Hopper of Hahira; and their children who adored her; her nieces and nephews, Sarah Stover, LeAnne VanAllen, Justin Hopper, Jordan Hopper, and Amanda Hopper; and numerous other relatives and friends. Faye was preceded in death by her father, Freddie “Fred” Stover.

Funeral services will be held Friday, April 19, 2024 at 12:00 p.m. at Fellowship Baptist Church with Rev. Ike Jefferson officiating and Dr. Tanya Thomas providing a eulogy. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will be receiving friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
