M. L. "Shorty" Harrison, Sr.

M. L., 94 of Sparks, fondly known as Shorty passed away Monday, April 15, 2024 at his home surrounded by his family. Shorty was born August 24, 1929 in Douglas to the late Morgan Lee & Rosa Bell Hand Harrison. He was a member of Church of Jesus in Douglas, where he loved going and singing, and being able to fellowship with all the ones he loved. Shorty worked as Tax Assessor of Cook County, and once was manager of Brooks Auto Store. He enjoyed going to all the school activities. Shorty had a special place in his heart for his wife, Priscilla and enjoyed spending time with her.  

Survivors include his wife, Priscilla W. Harrison of Sparks; sons, Morgan (Wanda) Harrison of Nashville, and George W. Harrison of Albany; daughter, Rosa Lee Stone of Nashville; 7 grandchildren; several great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; brother, Rev. Adreion (Nina) Harrison of Millwood, GA.; and sister, Lillian Williams of Douglas.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 18, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at Purvis Funeral Home with Rev. Adreion Harrison, and Chaplain Landon Alberson officiating. Interment will follow in Sparks City Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
