Mrs. Willa Mae "Babs" Purvis, 82 of Adel passed away Monday, July 2, 2018 at her residence. Mrs. Purvis was born November 7, 1935 to the late Zeno & Hattie Bass Hall. She worked for many years at Crackin Good Bakery and at B.C. Moore's in Adel. Before retiring she helped her husband, Tarrell Purvis at Purvis Service Station. Mrs. Purvis was a member of Adel United Methodist Church, where she enjoyed her Keystone Sunday School Class and was a member of the Young At Heart.
Survivors include her daughter, Jeanne (Randy) Walker of Eatonton, GA; grandchildren, Emily (Joey) Schramm, Sara (Corey) Mackie, Sam (Jennifer) Allen, Ivy (Michael) Sisler, David (Marilyn) Allen, and Rana Parramore; several great grandchildren; and several nieces & nephews. Mrs. Purvis was preceded in death by her husband, Tarrell Purvis; two daughters, Linda Allen, and Kay Cowart; one son, Thomas Cowart; two brothers, Edward Hall, and Walter Hall; and three sisters, Doris Henderson, Jimmie Lou Carter, and Carolyn McDowell.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 5, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Adel United Methodist Church with Rev. John Stephens officiating. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will be receiving friends Wednesday evening, July 4, 2018 from 6-8 p.m. at Purvis Funeral Home.
