Carl Mixon Obituary

Mr. Carl Mixon, 84 of Adel passed away Thursday, December 6, 2018 at his residence.  Mr. Mixon was born July 12, 1934 to the late Otis Samuel Mixon and Lessie Lewis Mixon.  He served in the United States Army during the Korean War and was a mechanical engineer before he retired.  Mr. Mixon was also a member of Cecil Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Reed Mixon of Adel; children, Gregory Wayne (Robin Denise) Mixon of Macon, Cindy (Frank) Hagan of Buford, GA, and Leslie (Jeff) Lovingood of Macclenny, Fl; grandchildren, Allison Allen, Rachel Moore, Marina Mixon, Sara Blankenship, Emily Stewart, Maggie Stone, Elizabeth Lucas, Lydia Lovingood, and Leah Lovingood; 11 great grandchildren; two sisters, Velma Bennett of Adel, and Ruth Noles of Adel.  Mr. Mixon was preceded in death by one brother, S. J. Mixon; and one sister, Ola Lee Boyd.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 8, 2018 at 10 a.m. at Purvis Funeral Home with Rev. Johnny Hendley officiating.  Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery Annex with military rites.  The family will be receiving friends Friday evening from 5-7 p.m. and one hour prior to the service at Purvis Funeral Home.  Serving as active pallbearers will be Chris Allen, Derek Blankenship, Andrew Moore, Glenn Reed, Travis Stewart, and Hunter Stone.  Honorary pallbearers are Weston Noles, John Reed, Bill Reed, Dale Boone, Wayne Taunton, Sam Walden, and Jerry Morey.
