David Henry Leavens

Mr. David Henry Leavens, 58 of Quitman, passed away peacefully on April 16, 2019 at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital surrounded by his family.  Mr. Leavens was born November 26, 1960 to the late Lige and Ruthe Lee Leavens.  Mr. Leavens served in the United States Army and was a mechanic with MIDS, Corp.

Survivors include his wife, Susan Martin Leavens of 25 years of Quitman; children, D. J. (Tori) Leavens of Pearson, Lige Martin Leavens of Quitman, and Morgan (Matt) Gaines of Adel; three grandchildren, Madison Leavens of Pearson, Gracie Leavens of Pearson, and Rhett Gaines of Adel; four sisters, Jan Martin of Blackshear, GA, Shirley (Burt) Crapps of Atlanta, Faye Abercrombie of Douglas, and Kaye (Winston) Gourley of Axson; one brother, Stephen (Jamie) Leavens of Dike, Tx; sister in law, Sandra (William) Buffum of Brooks Co, and her daughter, Julia "Jelly Bean" Davis of Cape Coral, Fl.; six nieces, Amy (Mario) Macrina, Kayla Leavens, Heather (Matthew) Clark, Brandi (Jad) Deal, Emily (Jarred) Morris, and Taylor Abercrombie; six nephews, B. J. (Lindy) Crapps, Grady (Stella) Leavens, Michael (Tori) Martin, Kenley Crapps, Drew Abercrombie, and Lige Benjamin Leavens; several great nieces, nephews, and cousins  Mr. Leavens was peceded in death by his son, Blake Leavens; and two brothers, Lenay Leavens, and Ben Leavens.  

Funeral services will be held Friday, April 19, 2019 at 7:00 p.m. at Maxwell-Purvis Funeral Home with Pastor Buck Crumbley officiating.  The family will be receiving friends from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Maxwell-Purvis Funeral Home.
