Elizabeth Gilmer

Elizabeth Gilmer, beloved wife of Ernest Reese Gilmer and mother of Ernest and Thomas, passed away peacefully on May 5, 2019. She was born to the late Robert M and Thelma Yarbrough on March 5, 1933 in Boynton Beach, Fl. She was preceded in death by her sister, Virginia Garbett. She also has 4 step-brothers and 2 step-sisters. Elizabeth graduated in 1951 from Seacrest High School, Delray Beach, FL. She married Reese Gilmer in 1952. 

Reese and Elizabeth enjoyed traveling across the country in their recreational vehicle visiting family and friends. They both were active in their church. She liked to bake and enjoyed craft-making. She is survived by her husband, Reese, sons Ernie and Tom. She is survived by three grandchildren and six great grandchildren, each one a treasure in her life.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 11, 2019 at Ozelle Methodist Church at 11:00 a.m.with Pastor Roy Little officiating.  Interment will follow at Evergreen Church Cemetery.  The family will be receiving friends one hour prior to the service at the church.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to VNA Treasure Coast at vnatc.com.
