Mrs. Emma Lou Gibbs, 84 of Sparks passed away Sunday, May 12, 2019 at South Georgia Medical Center. Mrs. Gibbs was born December 6, 1934 to the late Albert Goff & Edith Mae Flowers. She served in the United States Air Force and worked at Metal Products before retiring. Mrs. Gibbs was a member of Sparks Baptist Church.
Survivors include her daughters, Brenda (William) Davis of Sparks, Susan McBride (D. J. Hamann) of Lakeland, Fl, and Sandy (Lynwood) Yates of Morven; grandchildren, Chris Davis, Billie Joe Sutton, Anthony Giddens, Philip McBride, Bradley McBride, Jessica Young, Celeste Castellano, Bessie Caquelard, and Garrett Rentz; 15 great grandchildren; and one brother, Pete (Maureen) Flowers of OH. Mrs. Gibbs was preceded in death by her brothers, Clyde Flowers, Albert Flowers, and Richard Flowers; and two sisters, Marie Dougherty, and Evelyn Rejonis.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 15, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Purvis Funeral Home with Rev. Harris Whitman officiating. Interment will follow at Sparks City Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends Tuesday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Purvis Funeral Home.
