Estelle Thornhill Obituary
Mrs. Estelle Thornhill, 96 of Dixie passed away Thursday, January 31, 2019 at her daughter's residence in Ashburn. Mrs. Thornhill was born July 6, 1922 to the late Reuben & Blanche Simpson Mitchell. She was a member of the Barwick Baptist Church.
Survivors include her daughter, Sheryl ( Cary) Moore of Ashburn; granddaughter, Casey (Stewart) Kennedy of Edmond, OK; great grandchildren, Emily Anna Kennedy, Peyton Michael Kennedy, and Chansen Emmett Kennedy; two sisters, Dorothy Williams of Barney, and Rosalyn LaBove of Barney; several nieces & nephews. Mrs. Thornhill was preceded in death by her husband, Emmett C. Thornhill; siblings, Louise Hilton, Ora Lee Jones, Velma Godwin, and R. J. Mitchell.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, February 3, 2019 at 3:00 p.m. at Barwick Baptist Church with Rev. Elbert Channell and Mr. Stewart Kennedy officiating. Interment will follow at Rosewood Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends Saturday evening from 5-7 p.m. at Maxwell-Purvis Funeral Home.
