Eunice "Grannie Crosby" Louise Crosby Robinson

September 21, 1922 ~ September 30, 2017 (age 95) 95 Years Old


Eunice Louise Pinson Crosby Robinson, "Grannie" Crosby, was born September 21, 1922 near Morven to John and Nellie Flowers Pinson.  She passed away September 30, 2017, and was the fifth child born.  Four older brothers died in infancy or at a very young age.  Her younger brother Jimmy, whom she affectionately called Buddy, was killed in an automobile accident in October, 1975.  Her mother passed away at the age of 35 from Tuberculosis and her daddy passed away in May, 1962 from a heart attack.  On January 21, 1941, she married Clarence Crosby.  They had four children, 12 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, and 12 great great grandchildren.  He preceded her in death July 12, 1984.

Mrs. Eunice always enjoyed preparing for the dinners at the Welcome Hill Church of Christ, where she was a member for nearly 75 years.  She worked for many years at Strickland Mills in Remerton, and Crackin' Good Bakers.  She also was trained as a hair dresser and loved pretty clothes.  Mrs. Eunice always wanted to "look pretty" so weekly hair appointments were not to be missed!  

Survivors include her daughters, Patsy (Gene Sr.) Carter of Lake Park, Sue (Winston Sr.) Carter of Dasher, and Dianne (Randall Sr) Rogers of Quitman; daughter in law, Frances Crosby of Quitman; grandchildren, Terri (Don) DeCarlo, Janet (Randy) Hendon, Michael Crosby, Jason Crosby, Randy Rogers, and Jeffrey Rogers all of Quitman, Gene Carter, Jr., Debbie (Cary) Scarborough, Penny (Mike) Coggins, and Kenny Carter all of Lake Park, Winston (Diane) Carter, Jr., LaGary (Tanya) Carter all of Dasher, Robbie (Barbara) Robinson of Jacksonville, Fl, and Charlotte McKay of Dallas, TX.; 20 great grandchildren; 12 great great grandchildren, and many special friends and extended family, "the cousins."  Mrs. Eunice was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Robinson; recently, her son, Jerry Mack Crosby; and brother, Jimmy "Buddy" Pinson.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 4, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. at Welcome Hill Church of Christ Church with Mr. LaGary Carter officiating.  The body will lie in state at the church one hour prior to the service.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will be receiving friends Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. at Maxwell-Miller Funeral Home.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Langdale Hospice House or Georgia Bible Camp.
