Gussie Lee Ethridge

Mrs. Gussie Ethridge, 97 of Quitman passed away Saturday, December 8, 2018 at Presbyterian Home in Quitman.  Mrs Ethridge was born September 15, 1921 to the late Monroe & Nancy Johnson Dukes.  Mrs. Ethridge was a member of the Quitman First Baptist Church.

Survivors include her children, James Clinton (Sue) Ethridge, Jr. of Swainsboro, GA., Larry Wayne Ethridge of Milledgeville, GA., Melba Lovett of Quitman, and honorary daughter, Myrtice Bonner Ives of Quitman; grandchildren, Lynda Leigh Lovett, James Wade (Bianca) Lovett, Jr., Sally Ethridge (William) Taylor, James C. (Renata) Ethridge, III, Amanda Ethridge (Stan) Hazzard, Kristie Ethridge (Sam) Martinez, and Justin W. (Rebecca) Ethridge; great grandchildren, Van Hiers, Heather Hiers, Ashtyn Daughtrey, Savannah Butterfield, Robert Taylor, Suzanne Taylor, James "Jake" C. Ethridge, IV, Katie Ethridge, Drew Hazzard, Kelly Hazzard, and Ava Grace Poole; great great grandchildren, Brayden Nelson, Dallas Leverett, Hayden Butterfield, and Sadie Butterfield; special friend and caregiver, Ruthie Reynolds.  Mrs. Ethridge was preceded in death by her husband, J. C. Ethridge Sr.; several brothers and sisters; son in law, James Lovett. 

Funeral services will be held Monday, December 10, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Maxwell-Purvis Funeral Home with Rev. Steve Shierling officiating.  Interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery.  The family will be receiving friends one hour prior to the service at Maxwell-Purvis Funeral Home.
