Harold Phillips Obituary

Mr. Harold Lester Phillips, 89 of Quitman passed away Sunday, October 13, 2019 at South Georgia Medical Center. Mr. Phillips was born September 4, 1930 to the late Luther & Lucille Phillips. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War and was a member of the Quitman First Baptist Church.

Survivors include his children, Keith Harold (Lisa) Phillips of Suwanee, GA and Tawanda (Will) Waters of Douglas; grandchildren, Laura Lee, Natalie Phillips, and Nicholas Phillips; one great grandchild, Grace Lee. Mr. Phillips was preceded in death by his wife, Lorene Winters Phillips; one son, William Lester Phillips; two brothers, Ruis Phillips, and Donnie Phillips; and four sisters, Vivian Tumlin, Irma Taylor, Lois Murray, and Foye Frentheway.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at Quitman First Baptist Church at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Steve Shierling officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery with the VVA Chapter # 1090 of Adel providing military services. The family will be receiving friends one hour prior to service at the church.
