Helen DeWitt Obituary
Mrs. Helen Barker DeWitt,85 of Quitman passed away Monday, May 14, 2018 at Heritage House Nursing Home. Mrs. DeWitt was born July 8, 1932 to the late Earl and Valda Pearson McGraw. She was a Brooks County School bus driver before retiring.
Survivors include her husband, Robert L. DeWitt of Quitman; children, Donald (Rosie) Barker of Virginia, Ronald (Deborah) Barker of Florida, Wayne (Norma) Barker of Florida, Lance Barker of Florida, and Janine (Gabriel) Miles of Florida; grandchildren, Samantha Wesley, Stacey Freedle, Rhonda Crider, April Smiley, Christina North, Tony North, Brian Miles, Jessica Tudon, James Barker, Tallie Lewis, and Heather Lewis; sisters, Melba Tyre, Evelyn Woodard, and Mary Moyer of Brunswick, GA. Mrs. DeWitt was preceded in death by her son, John "Lex" Barker,that passed away in 1999; daughter in law, Billie Graham Barker.
Graveside services will be held Thursday, May 17, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Oak Hill Cemetery with Rev. Marvin White officiating. The family will be receiving friends Wednesday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Maxwell-Purvis Funeral Home.
