Jean Jones

Mrs. Jean Jones, 83 of Quitman passed away Thursday, September 6, 2018 at her residence.  Mrs. Jones was born September 1, 1935 to the late Clenis Vivian Nichols and Geneva Pike Nichols.  She was an avid quilter and a member of Okapilco Baptist Church, where she was the church secretary for several years. 

Survivors include her children, Robbie Jones of Quitman, Nicky (Janice) Jones of Quitman, and Charlotte (George) Mitchell of Pavo; grandchildren, Gary Jones, Gena (J.W.) Snow, Stephanie (Casey) Lane, Brandon (Alex) Mitchell, Lauren (David) Crawford, and Courtney Jones; great grandchildren, Sierra Snow, Ashton Snow, Caden Snow, Braxton Lane, Harlie Lane, Ava Crawford, and Jack Crawford; one brother, Benny (Marcia) Nichols of Barwick; and special friend & caregiver, Sheree Everett.  Mrs. Jones was preceded in death by her husband, Laurie Jones; one brother, Donald Nichols.

Graveside service will be held Sunday, September 9, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Okapilco Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Greg Icard officiating.  The family will be receiving friends Saturday evening from 5-7 p.m. at Maxwell-Purvis Funeral Home.  The family would like to express their appreciation to the Halcyon Hospice in Valdosta for the service that Mrs. Jones received.
