Jerry Griffis Obituary

Mr. Jerry Griffis, 69 of Lakeland passed away Saturday, March 31, 2018 at his residence. Mr. Griffis was born January 6, 1949 to the late Gerald & Mary Louise Clark Griffis. He was a painter and enjoyed fishing.
Survivors include his nieces, Serena Griffis (Jerry Smith) of Lakeland, and Amanda (Paul) Manning of Barney; nephew, Buck (Mary Jane) Poucher of Quitman; great nieces, Carlisa Murray, Brianna Poucher, Kynleigh Poucher, Juana McGuire; great nephews, Gauge Smith, Dalton Dryman, Leland Smith, Skyler Manning, Dustin Manning, Kelin Manning, and Anthony Manning; numerous great great nieces & nephews; and one sister, Claudette Jackson. Mr. Griffis was preceded in death by his brother, Emory Charles Griffis, and a great nephew, Chandler Manning.
A graveside service will be held Wednesday, April 4, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Cat Creek Cemetery with his niece, Amanda Manning officiating. The family will be receiving friends Tuesday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Maxwell-Purvis Funeral Home.
