Mr. Jimmy Newell, Sr., 67 of Fitzgerald passed away Sunday, August 19, 2018 at his residence. Mr. Newell was born August 5, 1951 to the late Hoke & Mollie Newell.

Survivors include her wife, Janice Newell of Blackshear; two children, Jimmy (Donna) Newell, Jr of Blackshear, and Betty Delgado of Hazleburst; 5 grandchildren and one great grandchild; one brother, Henry Newell of TN; five sisters, Pearlie Newell of Fitzgerald, Susan Stanford of Fitzgerald, Bessie Trowell of Hazlehurst, Virginia Floyd of Hazlehurst, and Christine Husted of Fl. Mr. Newell was preceded in death by one brother, Ralph Newell.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 22, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Purvis Funeral Home with Bro. Charles Connell officiating. The family will be receiving friends Tuesday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Purvis Funeral Home.
