Mary Elizabeth Atkinson

Mrs. Mary Atkinson, 90 of Sparks passed away Monday, November 4, 2019 at her residence.  Mrs. Atkinson was born February 4, 1929 to the late Orvin & Lilly Moore Flowers.  She owned Stylistic Beauty Shop in Adel.

Survivors include her son, Jimmy (Debbie) Atkinson of Columbus; daughters, Sylvia (Ray) Cavender of California & Tennessee, and Cathy (Jimmy) Walker of Sparks; grandchildren, Kimberly Cavender, Ray & Christine Anguiano, Martin & Whitney Milsap, Caleb Atkinson, Mitch Walker, Scott & Jessica Walker, Ashley Walker (Michael Bailey), and Holly Southerland; 11 great grandchildren; sisters, Becky (Vona) Rewis of Adel, Barbara (Jim) McMillian of Nashville; and a very special caregiver, Kathy Gilbert.  Mrs. Atkinson was preceded in death by two brothers, Wilbur Flowers, and Homer Flowers; and one sister Helen Gibson.

A memorial service will be held Tuesday, November 12, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Purvis Funeral Home with Rev. Ike Jefferson officiating.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Tiftarea, 618 Central Ave., Tifton, GA  31794.
