Billy Swann

Mr. Billy Swann, 87 of Quitman passed away Monday, January 17, 2022 at his residence. Mr. Swann was born December 26, 1935 to the late J. W. & Jessie Mae Touchton Swann. He was a member of Quitman First Baptist Church and was an avid fisherman. In Mr. Swann's earlier years he worked at his Uncle Jake Swann's machine shop as a machinist. After working there, he worked at Powell Farm Supply as the manager of maintence. Mr. Swann also worked at Ward Peanut Co, Coastal Plains Farmers Co. Op, Allison Fabrication of Valdosta, and retired from Brooks County Road Department.

Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth Swann of Quitman; son, Andy (Donna) Swann of Quitman; daughter, Janet (Allen) Wheeler of Quitman; four grandchildren, Brittany Hayes, Blake Swann, Austin Swann, and Denver Swann; two great grandchildren, Cali Hayes, and Piper Hayes; and several nieces & nephews. Mr. Swann was preceded in death by his son, Gary Swann; brother, Richard Swann; and sister, Patricia DeLoach. 

Graveside service will be held Wednesday, January 19, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Evergreen Church Cemetery with Rev. Andy Daughtrey, and Rev. Steve Shierling officiating. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to Kindgarten of the Quitman First Baptist Church.
