Buddy Monk

Clarence "Buddy" Arlie Monk, 74 of Quitman passed away Friday, February 10, 2023 at his home. Mr. Monk was born August 13, 1948 to the late Arlie & Gladys Terrell Monk. He enjoyed fishing and loved his family, especially his grandchildren. 

Survivors include his children, Kim Rigdon of Quitman, Jamie Monk of Quitman, David (Kellie) Monk of Quitman, Dan (Erin) Wardwell of Clyattville, Michael Crews of Valdosta, and Carrie (Aaron) Sparks of Valdosta; grandchildren, Michaela Rigdon, Nicholas Monk, Jesse Monk, Kryslyn Monk, India McClellan, Amber Parsley, Mardie Holmes, Brittany Jupe, Dakota Parsley, Tessa Crews, Dacey Crews, Braeden Crews, and Brooklyn Crews; a host of great grandchildren; brothers, Raymond (Pam) Monk of Covington, GA, and Donald (Gwen) Monk of Green Cove Springs, FL; very special companion, Leann Montgomery of Quitman; sister-in-law, Sherolyn Monk of Green Cove Springs, Fl; and brotherly friends, Terry Fowler of Ray City, and Phillip Becton of Perry, Fl. Mr. Monk was preceded in death by his brothers, Ricky Monk, and Randall Monk.

A graveside service will be held Thursday, February 16, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at Welcome Hill Church Cemetery with Rev. Stephen Hiers officiating. The family will be receiving friends Wednesday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Maxwell - Purvis Funeral Home.
