Buddy Sapp Obituary

Mr. Buddy Sapp, 77 of Quitman passed away Wednesday, June 14, 2023 at his residence. Mr. Buddy was born July 26, 1945 in Dixie to the late A. J. Henry Sapp & Thelma Odom Sapp. He worked for many years at Griner Chevrolet in Quitman as an automobile mechanic, he was one of the best mechanics around. He loved going to racing car events and NASCAR, he also enjoyed fishing and watching T.V.

Survivors include his wife, Frances Sapp of Quitman; children, Kristy (Stephen) Wilmot of Sparks, Kim (Jamie) Sapp of Morven, and Gene (Teresa) Sapp of North Carolina; stepchildren, Damon Rogers of Quitman, and Robin Rogers of LaGrange; 20 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; brothers, Lonnie (Patricia) Sapp of Quitman, and Raymond (Juanita) Sapp of Quitman; sister, Maxine (James) Hysmith of Quitman; several nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles. Mr. Buddy was preceded in death by his brother, Franklin Sapp; and sister, Jeanette Barr. 

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 20, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at Maxwell - Purvis Funeral Home with Rev. Steve Shierling officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends Monday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
