Clay Rutherford

Clay Rutherford, 26 of Adel passed away Wednesday, April 28, 2021 at his residence. Clay was born January 3, 1995 in Adel. He worked at ACT Propane Co. and was a member of Perimeter Road Baptist Church. Clay was a very generous and thoughtful person. He had a heart of gold and was always happy, laughing, and joking.

Survivors include his father and mother, Riley and Donna Rutherford of Adel; brother, Jason Rutherford of Adel; sisters, Kirby Parramore of Sparks, Casey Prescott of Tallahassee, Brandy (Brian) Connell of Adel, Brittany (Josh) Brooks of Adel, and Brooke (Virgil) Deberry of Adel; biological mother, Holly Prescott of Slyvester, paternal grandmother, Melba Weeks of Valdosta; maternal grandparents, B. J. Brogdon of Adel and Joyce Brown of Cairo; aunt, Diane Reyes of N. C. cousin, Alyssa Reyes of N. C.; nieces and nephews, Hope Parramore, Audrey Connell, and Virgil Durranc Deberry, Jr.; and several aunts, uncle, and cousins. Clay was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Edward Rutherford and maternal grandfather, Bill Brogdon.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, May 2, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Purvis Funeral Home with Rev. Phillip Simmons officiating. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery Annex. The family will be receiving friends Saturday evening from 6-9 p.m. at Purvis Funeral Home.
