Mr. Darrell Purvis, 61 of Lenox passed away Thursday, July 22, 2021 in Lafayette, Colorado from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Mr. Purvis was born August 15, 1959 to the late Felton Purvis and Patsy Rowan Purvis. He served in the United States Air Force from November 1978 through September 1994 in support of Operation Desert Shield/Storm. Mr. Purvis loved the mountains and camping, and enjoyed being on the lake. After his military service he continued at Tift Co High School as a JROTC instructor. He took extreme pride in his position and his drill team that he led went on to accomplish many national and state championships.” He was an avid GA Bulldog fan, & had a lot of pride in his craftsmanship and loved his grandson, Jake very much.
Survivors include his partner and best friend, Katlyn Brock of Colorado; daughter, Sara Cornelius of Hahira; son, Mark Purvis (Grant Greeson) of Atlanta; and his grandson, Jake Green of Hahira.
Graveside services will be held Sunday, August 1, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Lenox City Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends Saturday evening July 31, 2021 from 6-8 p.m. at Purvis Funeral Home.
