Dorothy Carter Obituary

Mrs. Dorothy Lee Carter, 91 of Quitman passed away Monday, April 6, 2020 at South Georgia Medical Center. Mrs. Carter was born December 29, 1928 to the late Leamon Levan Mercer and Olga Lee Mercer. She was a member of Grace Baptist Church and loved her flower garden.

Survivors include her children, Betty (Robert) Croft of New Marker, VA, Linda (Paul) Epp of Quitman, and Virginia (Bobby) Fletcher of Lake Park; 13 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren. Mrs. Carter was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Carter; children, Henry Carter, Jr. and Levan Carter; grandchild, Christopher Stephens; brother, J. B. Mercer; sisters, Opal Butts, and Bertha Straham.

A private graveside service will be held Tuesday, April 7, 2020 at Oak Hill Cemetery with Pastor Ferrell Morris officiating.
