Doug Charles Spence

Mr. Douglas 'Doug" Charles Spence 47 of Quitman passed away after a short illness at his home surrounded by his family on Monday, June 15, 2020. Doug was born on June 18, 1972 to the late Paul and Sandra Spence. He attended Ravenwood Academy and graduated from West Brook School. Doug proudly served his country in the United States Army and he worked many years as a welder with Evoqua Water Technology and also worked in the law enforcement.

Survivors include his wife, Carrie Walker Spence of Quitman; daughter, Keisley Spence; and brother, Paul Spence. Doug was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents, Paul & Rose Spence; and brother, Jamie Spence.

A celebration of life will be held Friday, June 19, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church Quitman with Rev. Steve Shierling officiating. The family will be receiving friends Thursday evening from 5-7 p.m. at Maxwell-Purvis Funeral Home.
