Evelyn Franks

Mrs. Evelyn Franks, 96 of Barney passed away Wednesday, May 17, 2023 at her residence. Mrs. Franks was born February 16, 1927 in Quitman to the late Malikai & Bessie Johnson Hisler. She was a member of Barney Baptist Church and before retiring she managed Rose's Department Store. Mrs. Franks enjoyed sewing, quilting, and working with flowers and gardening. She loved her family very much.

Survivors include her children, Lou Ann Carpenter (Gerry Mercer) of Barney, and Richard Earl (Karen) Franks, Jr. of St. Augustine, Fl; grandchildren, 10; great grandchildren, 26; and two brothers, Joe (Corky) Amendola of Lakeland, Fl, and Jimmy Amendola of Fayettville, N. C. Mrs. Franks was preceded in death by her husband, Dick Franks; daughter, Kathy Glover; brothers, J. M. Hisler, John Hisler, and Paul Hisler; and two sisters, Louise Hisler Barfield, and Sandra Laskey. 

Funeral services will be held Monday, May 22, 2023 at 3:00 p.m at Barney Baptist Church with Rev. Keith Wise officiating. The family will be receiving friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Committal service will be held Thursday, May 25, 2023 at 12:00 p.m. at Highland Memory Garden in Apopka, Fl, with Rev. Keith Wise officiating.
