Mrs. Flossie Jean Strickland, 81 of Moultrie passed away Monday, July 4, 2022 at Colquitt Regional Medical Center in Moultrie. Flossie Jean was born December 19, 1940 in Pavo to the late Berry Harold Pyle and Mona Pearl McHargue Pyle. She was a member of Christian Crusade Church in Moultrie and enjoyed going. She also enjoyed working as a hostess for many years at Ryan's in Thomasville, spending time with her family, and doing word search puzzles.
Survivors include her sons, Stuart Wayne (Alyshia) Strickland of Moultrie, William Lee Strickland of Adel, and Curtis (Patsy) Strickland of Adel; grandchildren, Victoria Strickland (Shannon Wilkerson) of Adel, Kellen (Staci) Copeland of Moultrie, Collen Strickland (Bailey Merritt) of Moultrie and Logan Strickland of Moultrie; great grandchildren, Chandler Brannon and Gabrielle Brannon of Adel; brothers, Jack Pyle of South Carolina, and Virgil (Jean) Pyle of Donaldsonville; sisters, Ethel Pyle of Valdosta, Edith Wilke of Orlando, Evelyn Peters of Orlando and Diane Sarro of Kentucky; and here special caretaker, Sharonda White. Flossie Jean was preceded in death by her husband, William L. Strickland, Sr; daughter, Debra Jean Strickland; brothers, Tommy Pyle, Billy Pyle and Johnny Pyle; and sisters, Sandra Ring, and Nancy Brooks.
Funeral services will be held Friday, July 8, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Maxwell - Purvis Funeral Home with Pastor Julian Griner officiating. Interment will follow at Barwick Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Serving as pallbearers are Collen Strickland, Logan Strickland, Chandler Brannon, Jack Ring, Shannon Wilkerson, and Kellen Copeland.
