Mr. Gary Blount, 78 of Lenox passed away Friday, May 8, 2020 at Fellowship Home in Valdosta. Mr. Blount was born May 28, 1941 to the late B J & Audrey Stembridge Blount. He was a member of Lenox Baptist Church and worked at Colquitt EMC for 35 years. Mr. Blount was a volunteer with the Lenox Fire Department and Police Department for many years. He was a servant to many people. He was called "Cowboy" by everyone because he always wore his hat and loved horses.
Survivors include his wife, Wanda Blount of Lenox; children, Scott (Jill) Blount of Madison, AL, Kevin Blount of Lenox, LaVonda (Lee) Pittman of Willacoochee, and Amanda (David) McCool of Macon; grandchildren, Kayce (Rocky) Harper, Keylee (Hugh) Johnson, Charli Blount, Ethan Blount, Ziva Blount, Elizabeth Nichole Blount, Beau Blount, Skylar McCool, and Declan McCool; one great grandchild, Logan Harper. Mr. Blount was preceded in death by one brother, Alden Blount.
A private graveside service will be held Monday, May 11, 2020 at Stauton Cemetery with Rev. Jim Vaughn officiating. When conditions related to the COVID-19 Pandemic allow, a public memorial service will be announced.
