Mr. George Wilson Walden, Jr. "GW" 90, of Lenox, GA passed away peacefully at his home on May 14, 2020. GW was born on May 10, 1930 in Henry county at the home place on Thurman Road to the late George Wilson Walden and Roby Mae White Walden. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Betty Arnold Walden; brothers, Madison "Bud" Walden, Lamar Walden, Zack Walden, Talmadge Walden, and Jimmy Walden; sisters, Sallie Fanny Matthews, Louise Galloway, and Margaret Chamlee.
GW worked and retired from Army Air Force Exchange Service in Conley, GA as a forklift operator. Those that knew him loved him. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed traveling, camping, playing rook, checkers, and horseshoes. He loved the outdoors and loved his family.
He is survived by two brothers, John L. Walden and Harold W. (Joy) Walden of Ellenwood, GA; two sister in laws, Thelma Walden of McDonough GA and Barbara W. Chambers of Stockbridge, GA.; two grandchildren, Tiffany Purvis Morton (Chris) and Tony (Amanda) Purvis of Lenox, GA.; seven great grandchildren, Madi Murray, Emma Grace Morton, Daisy Morton, Chase Morton, Taylor Hagood, Kelsie Hagood, and John David Taylor; also, numerous loving nieces and nephews.
