Geraldine Yancey

Geraldine Yancey, 77 of Adel passed away Thursday, June 1, 2023 at her home. Mrs. Yancey was born December 31, 1945 to the late L. K. & Lucile Brogdon Knox. She was a member of Lenox Christian Fellowship Church. She enjoyed cooking, and baking cakes. At one time Mrs. Yancey and her husband, Emmett owned Yancey's Bar-B-Que. She loved her family very much.

Survivors include her grandchildren, Jazmyn Barber (Jeffery Travis) of Adel, and Jennifer (Robert) Baldree of Ellenton; great grandchild, Oakley Travis. She was preceded in death by her previous husband, Emmett Yancey; daughter, Judy Scarbrough; and several siblings.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, June 4, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at Purvis Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Lenox City Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
