Hester Gregory
Obituary
Hester Gregory, 96 of Quitman passed away Tuesday, July 26, 2022 at South Georgia Medical Center. She was born April 21, 1926 in Manchester Kentucky to the late Houston & Oma Brock Root. Mrs. Gregory has been a resident of Brooks County since 1980 after moving from Brownsburg Indiana. She is one of 11 children.
Survivors include her two daughters, Kathy Rountree of Quitman, and Mattie Sue Johnson of Hudson, Florida; three sons, Ed Gregory of Moultrie, Gary Gregory of Pittsboro, Indiana, and Terry Gregory of Brownsburg, Indiana; 15 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren; and 4 great great grandchildren. Mrs. Gregory was preceded in death by her husband, Sam K. Gregory; and son, Mike Gregory.
Graveside services will be held Saturday, July 30, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at Campground Cemetery with Minister Adam Greene officiating.
