Hilda Brooks Griffin

Hilda Grace Brooks Griffin, 80 of Quitman passed away Monday, March 20, 2023 at Presbyterian Home Quitman. Mrs. Griffin was born October 22, 1942 to the late Henry Isaac & Grace Hobbs Brooks. Mrs. Griffin was a member of Northside Baptist Church and she worked for 27 years at the Citizens National Bank in Quitman. She liked to dance, was a great cook and collected figurines. She was a happy, loving wife, mama, and Granny. She was the hardest working, kindest, most gentle person. She showed us how to love others and pointed us to Jesus.

Survivors include her husband, Jake Randall Griffin of Quitman; daughters, Pamela (Thomas) Styer of Boston, and Sharon (Arnold) Leslein of Quitman; grandchildren, Megan Styer, Kristen (James) Morris, Danielle (Josh) Enden, Austin Leslein, Jake Leslein, & Preston Leslein; great grandchildren, John Morris, and Logan Enden; sisters-in-laws, LaTia Brooks, Cheryl Brooks, Therlisel Griffin, and Myrna Warga; and several nieces & nephews. Mrs. Griffin was preceded in death by her two brothers, Larry Brooks, and Loran Brooks; and sister, Henrinell Sheffield.

Funeral services will be held Friday, March 24, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at Northside Baptist Church with Rev. Larry Harris officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Maxwell - Purvis Funeral Home.
