Jo Cowart

Mrs. Jo Cowart, 86 of Adel passed away Friday, April 30, 2021 at her residence. Mrs. Cowart was born April 19, 1935 to the late Robert and Grace Martin. She worked for more that 30 years at ITT International and was self employed at the Sunshine Acres Mobile Home Park. Mrs. Cowart was a foster mother for serveral years and she enjoyed cooking and working with her flowers. She loved everyone of her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren and her dog Tiny.

Survivors include her children, William (Brenda) Davis of Adel, Wendell (Cheryl) Davis of Nashville, Ricky (Pam) Davis of Adel and Jackie (David) Harris of Adel; 9 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; several nieces,nephews and foster children; and two step daughters. Mrs. Cowart was preceded in death by her husbands, W L Davis, Jimmy Dalton, and Thomas Owen Cowart;  sisters, Dorothy Crosby and Bobbie Brown.

Graveside services will be Sunday, May 2, 2021 at 5:00 p.m. at Woodlawn City Cemetery with Rev. Ike Jefferson officiating. The family will receive friends at 4:00 p.m. at Purvis Funeral Home.
