Joan Johnson Obituary

Mrs. Joan Johnson, 88 of Quitman passed away Saturday, January 9, 2021 at South Georgia Medical Center. Mrs. Johnson was born June 6, 1932 to the late Gordon Franklin Hatchett and Ion Gaines Hatchett. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Quitman and had several jobs outside the home, but the most important job was being a mother.

Survivors include her children, Ernest "Ern" (Pam) Johnson of Ochlocknee, Jerry (Karen) Johnson of Kingsland, GA, and Garry "Gator" (Robi) Johnson of Sylvester; grandchildren, Jennifer (Michael) Brignati, Heather (Kim) Johnson, Cassie Huitt, and Andrea (Marty) Whiddon; great grandchildren, Cecilia Brignati, Sophia Brignati, Jacie Dukes, Meg Dukes, Connor Whiddon, and Drew Whiddon; and special cousin, Bonnie Bryan. Mrs. Johnson was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Johnson; and grandson, Brett Johnson.

A private graveside service will be held with Rev. Steve Shierling officiating.
