Phil Gibbs, 71 of Sparks passed away Thursday, June 30, 2022 at Tift Regional Medical Center. Phil was born February 3, 1951 to the late Samuel Benjamin Gibbs & Mary Lizzie Brooks Gibbs. Before retiring, Phil worked at Micro-Flo as a welder. He was a member of Massee Baptist Church and minister of music.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Padgett Gibbs of Sparks; sons, Phillip Anthony Gibbs, Jr of Adel, and Coty (Stephanie) Gibbs of Hahira; grandchildren, Phillip Gibbs, III, Harley (Michael) Williams, Sloan Gibbs, Tyler Gibbs, and Hunter (Cassie) Gibbs; great grandchildren, Emma Gibbs, Zoey Gibbs, Keaton Gibbs, Rhett Hayes, Noah Hayes, Ollie Williams, Charlotte Williams, Khale Williams, Beckham Gibbs, and Jaxon Gibbs, Weston Gibbs; and brothers, Emmett (Linda) Gibbs of Adel, and Van (Teresa) Gibbs of Adel.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 2, 2022 at Massee Baptist Church at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Phillip Badley officiating. Interment will follow at Woodlawn City Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends Friday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Purvis Funeral Home.
