Scott Tasker

Scott Francis Tasker, 61 of Adel, Georgia passed  away peacefully at his home surrounded by his loved ones.  He was born November 14,1959  in Kingston,New York. He is preceded in death by both of his parents Mary and Edward Tasker. He had two loving brothers Dennis Tasker of New Paltz, New York and Edward Tasker of New Paltz, New York .  On August 13, 2011 Scott was blissfully wed to his soulmate Tonya Tasker. Scott’s love for her was unconditional. This year they would have celebrated their 10th wedding anniversary. He had many careers in his life.  Above all he loved serving his country and community.  Scott enlisted in the Marines on February 8, 1978 to February 1982.  Scott absolutely loved everything about the Marines he carried this obsession throughout his life.  He started 2 chapters 22 til None.  He also loved law enforcement.  He was a dispatcher for the New Paltz, New York and The Town of Lloyd Police Department.  Scott was the fire chief of Crown Point fire department and New Paltz Fire department .  He loved serving his community in any way possible.  He just loved life. He touched so many lives in his life time and was loved so much. Scott had so many hobbies and interests. He loved fishing and hunting.  He had a passion for gun smithing. One of Scott’s most favorite things to do in the WHOLE world is spending time with his family. He was a resident of Adel, Georgia since 2018 prior to living in New Paltz, New York.

Survivors include his wife, Tonya Tasker of Adel; four daughters, Elizabeth Tasker and her boyfriend Travis of Queensbury, New York , Nicole Groover and her boyfriend Nate of Newmilford, PA, Michaela Tasker of Lake Placid, New York, and Miranda Bordeau of Lake Placid ,New York; two sons, Robert Tasker and his fiancée Tosha of New Paltz, New York, and Brandon Soyke of Ellington, GA; grandchildren, Kaelixte, Brayden, Bristol, Chase, Saige, Greyson, Kaycee, Robert Jr.and Conor.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 12, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Purvis Funeral Home with Rev. Gregory J. Soyke, and Rev. Nichole L. Groover officiating. The family will be receiving friends from 1:00 - 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery Annex. Serving as pallbearers are Robert Tasker, Travis Green, Brandon Soyke, Zach Chyzik, Andrew Sisler, and Nate Gaskill.
