Sue Young Obituary

Sue Carol Barlow Young passed away on Friday, April 2, 2021. She died peacefully at Pelham Parkway Nursing Home. She was born December 2, 1952 in Pavo, GA. She was the daughter of the late Bailey Barton Barlow and Johnnie Waltine Gay Barlow.

Survivors include her son, Craig Young of Moultrie; sister, Drucilla Barlow Freeman Bennett of Thomasville, and brother Ralph Paul (Sonja) Barlow of Barwick. She dearly loved her many nieces and nephews she is leaving. Sue was preceded in death by a sister, Martha Ann Barlow Strickland; and two brothers, Robert "Bobby" Wayne Barlow and Irby Thomas Barlow

Sue graduated from Brooks County High School in 1971. She was very active in many clubs and activities in high school. She was so honored to be chosen by her classmates in her senior year to represent her class and be one of the lovely young ladies in the Homecoming Court.

Sue loved all her family. She lived in Moultrie for many years and she looked so forward to the big family get togethers. Her favorite job was working at Ponder's in Moultrie. She was a great decorator and loved arranging flowers, fresh or silk. She loved doing cross stitching and needle point and was a great cook, she also loved angels and had a large collection of them. Sue loved Barwick Baptist Church and her home church, Harmony Baptist Church. She enjoyed fixing ladies hair, and she would have several elderly friends who were tired and she would go to their home every week and fix their hair. Even though she had to sit on a stool herself towards the end of the accomplishment. Sue never wanted to miss her son, Craig's go-Kart racing, she loved watching football games and car races. Sue was a care giver and she did it so well.  Because she gave with all her heart.
