Virginia Weeks

Mrs. Virginia Dare Gibbs Weeks, 87 of Adel passed away Wednesday, May 18, 2022 at Southwell Health & Rehab Center. Mrs. Weeks was born November 28, 1934 to the late Hilsman & Bertha Hall Gibbs. She retired as a nurse and caregiver. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, and loved sending cards to her friends and loved ones. Mrs. Weeks was a prayer warrior, and was a Children's Sunday School teacher. She was a member at Massee Baptist Church.

Survivors include her children, David (Cheryl) Weeks of Lakeland, Steve (Tonya) Weeks of Adel, Julie (Ken) Ratts of Adel, and Sandra Green of Adel; grandchildren, James Kevin (Tina) Sapp, Shelly (Chad) Lott, Ginny (Tracy) Herring, Becky Ratts, Eric (Celena) Green, Todd Green, Mickey (Tonya) Green, Tracey (Jason) Cole, Kim Elworthy, Jared Weeks, Jeremy (Ashley) Hall, Adrienne Hall, Alyson (Tommy) England, Katrina (Michael) Hurley, Jake (Laura Leigh) Weeks, and Zack (Hanna) Weeks; 37 great grandchildren; 11 great great grandchildren; and one sister, Jaunell Graham of Douglas. Mrs. Weeks was preceded in death by her husband, Levis Weeks, that passed away February 4, 2004; brother, Charles Gibbs; sisters, Wyolene White, and Faye Thompson; son in laws, Harold Green, and James Sapp; grandson, Doug Ratts; and daughter in law, Melinda Weeks.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 21, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Massee Baptist Church with Rev. Tommy Bussy, and Rev. Phillip Badley officiating. Interment will follow at Fellowship Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends Friday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Purvis Funeral Home. The family is gathering at the residence of Sandra Green, 1106 Lonnie Grimsley Road, Adel, GA 31620.
